Simone has been involved in the collaborative efforts of the ID3 (Institute of Data Driven Design) to design and build the Data Common, an open source operating system for Smart Cities and E-governments, allowing citizens to be in control over their personal data to unleash the full potentials of the “self-organizing” and “sharing” economy. The Data Common vision is to accelerate the advent of the open source sector, as a new “digital sector” between the public and the private one, to build and deploy data-driven and human-centric services that increase public engagement and cooperation.

He is also actively working as an IT consultant, leading a team that provides Blockchain solutions for both public sector and enterprises.

Passionate about exploring novel relational economies and decentralized autonomous organisations, he is actively conducting research in novel crypto-currency models and incentive mechanisms to empower cooperation and an environmentally sustainable future, such as the “Oxygen Initiative”.
