Future Ready Government – Navigating the Changes

Governments are facing an accelerating pace of change on all fronts, be it economic, social, technological, environmental or others. With the emergent changes, it can no longer be "business as usual". Governments have to be flexible, adaptable, collaborative and creative in order to successfully navigate the waves of change and be ready for the future. In this conference, participants will discuss how governments around the world are harnessing advances in Information and Communications Technology to embrace the opportunities and challenges presented by the swiftly evolving landscape to be ready for the future.

Mobile computing is going from strength to strength, spurred on by trends such as Consumerisation of IT and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Visit to Citizen Services Centre in Lisbon

Presentation by:
Paulo Neves, President, Agency for the Administrative Modernization (AMA), Portugal

The Portuguese one-stop-shops - “Citizen Shops” - are managed by the Administrative Modernization (AMA) and are one of the most emblematic projects with regards to the delivery of public and private services to citizens in Portugal. In one place, citizens can have access to a wide range of public and private services, from social security to tax services, electricity or water suppliers’ companies and Citizens Card emission services. In this visit to one of the Citizen Shops, participants will be able to see in loco how the shops work and put in practice a citizen-oriented model based on integration and interoperability between different public entities.
