Breakout Session

This year a new Breakout Session format was adopted to facilitate the concrete formulation of solutions to common problems. Past years have already shown the success of breakout sessions to create an actions - and solutions-oriented working environment.

The new Breakout Session model built on the strength of the ICA network: active participation of its members and open sharing of views. This format answers to the request of the council to create a conference environment which is even more interactive.

How it works:

  • An agreed list of priority issues was used for in-depth interactive discussion in break-out groups on Day 2. Following lunch participants were asked to develop concrete solutions for country groups.
  • The outcomes and recommendations were reported back on day 3. Following the conference, an ICA position paper will be published detailing these conclusions.
