Peter Bruce joined Shared Services Canada in August 2013 as Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Projects and Client Relationships. He is responsible for the oversight and delivery of Projects, including SSC’s own Transformation Projects (fulfilling the ‘Build’ role of our business model), as well as the vast majority of Partner-driven projects. In addition to IT Project Delivery, Peter is also responsible for the Project Management Centre of Excellence ensuringa consistent project delivery function across the Department.

He leads the Relationship Management function with our Partner organizations as well as overseeing the development, implementation and evolution of the Departmental Business Intake process.

Previously, Peter was the Vice President of Information Management and Information Technology at Canadian Food Inspection Agency and also the Chief Information Officer at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

Prior to this, he was the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Government of Canada. He has also worked for the Government of Ontario with the Ministries of Education and Training, Colleges and Universities as well as at Management Board Secretariat from July 2000 to July 2002.He has extensive experience with the Federal Public Service having worked in a range of departments over 25 years including as the CIO for the Federal Department of Justice and Chief Technology Officer for Library and Archives Canada. His public service career has been focused on improving government programs, services and operations through effective use of information technology. Peter has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from Queen's University.
