She has been working in the field of law and ICT for more than 30 years. Her interests include both application of law in digital environments and legal system design. Major research profiles are personal data protection, information security and e-government.
Cecilia is course director within a variety of university programs and is also frequently engaged as lecturer for practicing lawyers as well as for ICT professionals. Her international network is wide-ranging and she is regularly giving guest lectures abroad. In addition to academic publications she is the author and editor of several textbooks both in Swedish and English.
Over the years she has participated in many interdisciplinary research projects and also public inquiries regarding legal aspects of the digitalization of society. She has earned several awards and scholarships for outstanding research, for example by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
