Shimon Broner has been the Senior CIO in the Israeli government Ministry of Economy, since 2006. He spent the previous 30 years at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, where he began his career in the computer center and left as CIO. In the intervening years, he served as Team Leader in the Systems Analysis Unit, Head of the Systems Analysis Division, and Head of the System Applications Division. Prior to joining the government, he studied Computer Engineering at Tel Aviv University. Shimon Broner holds a B.A. degree in Social Science with a specialization in economics from BAR-ILAN University, and an M.A. degree in Public Policy from Tel Aviv University. He is a member of the Israel Chamber of Information Systems Analysts’ Board, the Governmental CIO's Forum, and the Central Committee for ICT and Technology within the Governmental CIO office in the Prime Minister Office.
He has been Israel’s National Representative to ICA since 2003, ICA’s Board member (Vice Chair) since October 2010 and the ICA's Chair since October 2012.
