WELCOME

We hope you have enjoyed your holidays! With this Fall edition of our Newsletter we would like to bring you up to date with the latest from our ICA community.

It saddens us to bid farewell to a wonderful person, Rina Oron, whom most have met and admired for her support, directly and indirectly, throughout the years and through her presence at a large number of ICA’s Conferences around the world. Rina passed away on August 29th. Surely, we speak for everyone when we say that she will be greatly missed.

New Beginnings!

Sometimes saying goodbye also means great beginnings, and that’s the case with Howard Jyan. Howard will not be joining us as ICA Vice Chair from now on, as he has taken on new authority within the Government of Taiwan. Conference Ahead…

With the Golden Anniversary Conference just a couple of months away, we ask that you take a look below for important registration information. Rest assured that the Hosting Country, the Board and the Programme Committee are working intensely to ensure this will be a memorable event.

Finally, don’t hesitate to share the conference information with more colleagues from any non member countries you believe would benefit from attending the 50th ICA Conference programme.

Don’t Miss…

When planning your stay in Medellin, remember that you may want to extend your visit a couple more days to attend:

  • More information will be communicated as that.
  • Colombia’s Ministry of ICT will host the E-xperience on the 17th & 18th of November in Medellín. Be sure to save the date!

More information for both events will be communicated as that becomes available.

Setting the Ground…

To set the ground for the 50th ICA Conference we have scheduled a webinar in cooperation with OECD on “Delivering an Improved Citizen Experience through User-Driven Design Approaches”. Be sure to save the date and join the dialogue on September 13 at 15:00GMT and share your insights and experiences with your colleagues. Meanwhile, you can Join your colleagues on LinkedIn from ICA and OECD which is live now to discuss this topic. More updates to come!

Country Reports…

Country reports are highly valuable to key knowledge sharing during our conferences, therefore we urge all members who have not yet sent their reports to do so by the extended deadline of September 26th.

Be sure to attach the image which best
describes your government’s digital strategy.

In the event you will not be attending the Conference, kindly include a small narrative (2 minutes max) so that you are properly represented during the Golden Anniversary session.

All information regarding the 2016 Country Reports can be found here.

We’d like to take the opportunity and thank Frank McDonough who has graciously offered to present with an original signed copy of his newly published book titled “Spring Training for the Major Leagues of Government” to the first 10 countries who submit their Country Reports to the Secretariat.

Congrats to Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Israel, Finland, Mexico, Taiwan and The Netherlands, you are in the list to be receiving your signed copy in Medellín!

We look forward to seeing you in Medellín!
