Amos Tan holds portfolios as Commission Member of the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC);
and Director for Strategy & Innovation in the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).

Prior to his current portfolios, Amos was the Programme Director who led the development of Singapore’s
eGov2015 Masterplan; and had also assumed the role of Chief Information Officer in the Ministry of
Community Development, Youth and Sports (then-MCYS).

Amos has more than 18 years of infocomm experience in the Singapore’s public sector. He had worked in
various Singapore government agencies such as the Singapore Sports Council, the Ministry of Environment
and Water Resources, the National Environment Agency - responsible for the agency’s infocomm
masterplanning; applications implementation and service delivery; technical services and infrastructure
implementations. He had also worked with the Singapore’s Workforce Development Agency and the
National Council of Social Service on their first infocomm masterplans. Amos was also involved in the development
of Singapore’s 5th National Infocomm Plan “Connected Singapore”.

In his career, Amos had also provided consultancy to foreign governments, such as the Kuwaiti, Qatari,
Omani governments on their e-government programmes.

Amos graduated with a Bachelor in Computer Engineering and a Master of Science in Management of Technology.
He also completed the Management Acceleration Programme with INSEAD Fontainebleau, France.
