From his current position as Director of Standards and IT Architecture in the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Jorge Bejarano is responsible for the design and implementation of public policies on information technology to modernize and transform the Colombian State's technology platforms, always seeking to ensure the effectiveness of management and interoperability between IT systems with information security and privacy. The directorate he has been managing for the past years is also in charge of analyzing and proposing information Technology guidelines that meet the required parameters on state information as well as the safety and protection of information.

During his professional career, Bejarano has held multiple positions in public institutions, mainly being responsible for the technology areas in entities from the public sector, on the national and territorial level, always aiming to generate high impact projects through the strategic use of ICT. He has also been a consultant to public and private entities and he has taught undergraduate and graduate students at several universities in Colombia.

Jorge holds a Systems Engineering degree from the Catholic University of Colombia as well as a Specialization in Government and Control of Capital District from the Externado University and he is also a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Engineering from the Pontifical University of Salamanca in Spain.
